The first prototype of SNOBAR was installed on a roof back in 1991. During this time a u-shaped channel was welded on a beam clamp, which was clamped onto a standing seam without the use of adhesives or penetrating the roof and allowing a steel tube to sit into the channel. In June of 1992 we were one of the first snow guard companies that received a patent for a bar system that clamps to a standing seam metal roof. We designed a one-piece clamp in 1995, which is still widely used across the United States and Canada. Since then we have come up with several products that address sliding snow issues on all types of metal roofs.
